When BlackBerry introduced its first BlackBerry 10 handsets earlier this year, Sprint was the only major US carrier to pass on the flagship Z10 and opt to carry only the entry-level BlackBerry Q10 phone.

According to AllThingsD, Sprint decided to skip the Z10 because there is something else coming down the pike. Sources familiar with the matter said the carrier is slated to sell a not-yet-announced touchscreen BlackBerry in the second half of the year. The new BlackBerry handset will be a new model and not just an updated version of  the current Z10 that is going on sale with AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile this month.
