The long-standing rumor was that Rovio is working on Angry Birds animated series for quite some time. The wait is almost over and within the next few days, all of us will be able to enjoy Angry Birds short clips while on the go (or while in the home).
Set to be launched on March 17th, the Angry Birds Toons will be available from a dedicated channel inside Angry Birds games, as well as on Samsung smart TVs, Roku boxes and Xfinity. The show will consists of a 52-part series, featuring characters from both the pig and bird sides of the app.
Here’s what company’s CEO Mikael Hed had to say: “We’re delighted to introduce all this through our new channel, with easy and instant access to the stories in the palm of your hand. With over 1.7 billion downloads, we can reach a far wider and more engaged global audience than traditional distribution would allow.”
The in-app channel will appear after an update is downloaded on Sunday, March 17th from when new episodes will start appearing on your mobile device.
