Tickets for Google I/O went on sale today  at 7 AM Pacific time and sold out rapidly. Just like last year, the tickets flew off the virtual shelves with both the academic tickets, sold in limited numbers and priced at $300 each, and the more expensive standard tickets ($900) selling out within 50 minutes.

Google I/O is expected to be a blockbuster event with the possible unveiling of the next Nexus device and  the introduction of the upcoming version of Android. Similar to past years, I/O attendees will likely walk home with a treasure trove of Android devices, too.

Anyone manage to get a ticket this morning or did you get shut out?
