We’ve already told you that the unlocked, SIM-free version of the Padfone 2 is coming to the UK. And we know, it’s kinda steep to pour out all that cash in advance, but luckily there’s now a way to get the phone/tablet combo for free as long as you commit on a two-year contract from Vodafone. That contract comes at 33 GBP per month, which may sound a lot, but then again – remember that you get both a phone and tablet in one neat package.

On the downside, we’re no longer that much excited about the Padfone 2 now that the Padfone Infinity has been announced. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad device; quite the contrary, the second Padfone is still a rock-solid product, boasting Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 4.7-inch 720p Super IPS+ HD screen, dual cameras, and a ton of built-in storage.

You can check the mentioned Vodafone offer from this page at The Carphone Warehouse website.
