And we thought AT&T has completely abandoned the LG Thrill 4G. It didn’t, or at least not completely as Thrill 4G owners can now update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Not exactly the latest version of Android, but better something than nothing. And unfortunately, we’re not sure whether there will ever be Jelly Bean firmware ready for LG’s phone. You can always experiment with third-party ROMs, though.
Anyway, if you have the Thrill 4G, you’ll have to download LG’s Mobile Support Tool to perform the update. It’s not an over-the-air affair, but the process is still pretty easy – just install LG’s software, plug-in your phone and follow the on-screen instructions. Before you know it, Ice Cream Sandwich will be running on your unit. You’ll get some browser enhancements, stability improvements, and so on and on. Check out AT&T’s update page for all the details…
