AT&T is rolling out an update for it’s Samsung Galaxy S II handset today, according to a forum post on AT&T’s support website. The small update is rolling out OTA, and includes security enhancements as well as fixing a power issue, which made devices either power down or become unresponsive while idle.
AT&T’s forums show that users have been dealing with many issues for some time now, with comments showing some customers experiencing three to four shutdowns a day while the phone is idle. Some users have already received the update however, and are currently reporting a quick install, as well as no app issues. Time will tell if this update will fix the shutdown while idle issues, which users have been experiencing since a firmware update from back in December of 2012.
For owners of AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy S II who have been experiencing these problems, this is one godsend of a small update. Have any of you who experienced these issues tried flashing a custom ROM to circumvent these problems? Let us know.
