AT&T's LG Optimus G gets a small update, not Jelly Bean we crave for

AT&T and LG are pushing a small update for the LG Optimus G and no – it doesn’t include the so much needed Jelly Bean goodies. Instead, this is just a maintenance release that will fix some of the known bugs, add few tweaks here and there, while leaving your device running Android 4.0.4.

The new software version is E97011c and honestly we’re not sure whether it’s worth “pushing the button” — except for the fact that it’s a good practice to have your firmware up to date at all times. As I said, some of the things have been definitely changed but nothing worth shouting about. The lack of change log (we haven’t caught it at least) further proves this claim. Still, if you notice some change, do let us know in the comments form below…

UPDATE: Jelly Bean update arrived shortly after, bringing Google Now, improved push notifications and Project Butter enhancements…

I find it quite disturbing how sprint and all the carriers around the world that carry this phone have updated to jelly bean but yet AT&T still is holding the update, if there ever going to be on update to jellybean.Come on AT&T..

  • This is not a new update. It has been available since December 2012. Maybe they are repushing it?

They could just be dotting their i’s and crossing their t’s, making sure everyone’s device has their firmware up to date before pushing out the jelly bean update.
