HTC First smartphone image with Facebook Home leaks

Evleaks, which has become famous (or infamous depending on the perspective you’re coming from) for leaking authentic images of unannounced or unreleased devices, is at it again. The new “home on Android” Facebook is planning to unveil this Thursday, April 4th, will apparently be featured in an upcoming HTC smartphone, the HTC First. Evleaks posted the photo above of the handset on its Twitter account just a few hours ago today.

There’s also some rumored specs alongside the image that surfaced in earlier reports. The HTC First would have a 4.3-inch 720p HD display, dual-core Snapdragon processor, a 5MP rear camera, and will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. This safely puts it in a mid-range category of smartphones.

The “Facebook Phone” has been rumored for a couple of years now. Whether you want to consider this the result of that rumor, the word is the First will have very deep Facebook integration. Many of the regular Android apps will have Facebook apps in its place, for example. The Wall Street Journal has also said it might display Facebook accounts on the home screen and status updates.

Facebook will apparently announce the HTC First at its press conference on Thursday.
