Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 gets Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update

Samsung has started rolling out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Ace 2 (model number GT-I8160). As usual, the new software is rolled out in stages so if you still don’t see it yet, don’t worry – you’ll be able to download it in the next few days/weeks. Or if you hate waiting, you can fire-up the Samsung Kies software and see if you can download the update that way.

Among the things you’ll get with this firmware are improved push notifications, Google Now and Project Butter enhancements. Plus, let’s not forget Sammy’s own tweaks that should make for an overall improved (and more stable) experience.

Finally, as far as we’ve understood, the new software will only affect unlocked phone owners whereas those with carrier-specific models will most likely have to wait a little longer.
