A new dual-core smartphone will soon be available in China for 299 Yuan, the amount that translates into roughly $49. You got that right – that’s 50 bucks.
In addition, the soon-to-be-launched Mogu Tiger S2 also sports a 4-inch screen (we guess it’s WVGA), dual SIM support, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and FM radio. On the downside, it runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread rather than Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean… Guess we can’t be too picky for $50, which usually gets us some pretty basic feature phone.
That said, we doubt the Tiger S2 will ever be released in the West though you never know. Perhaps some importer will get a couple of units, only to sell them for whopping $60, making $10 on every sale. 😉
