European LG Optimus 4X HD gets Jelly Bean update

LG has started rolling out Jelly Bean update for Optimus 4X HD smartphone owners in Europe. Users in the Czech Republic were first to get the new software and now the rest of the continent can join the party.

Bear in mind that the initial phase will target owners of unlocked units while those who grabbed the Optimus 4X HD with a carrier contract will have to wait a little longer. We’re not sure how much longer, though.

In order to cram Jelly Bean to your device, you’ll have to download LG’s Update Tool (over-the-air update isn’t possible) which is available for Windows, only. If you’re a Mac user, better fire-up that Boot Camp to get such goodies as Google Now, Project Butter and actionable push notifications. The extra effort is worth every second spent to make this work. Or if you can’t do it, visit a local LG service center and ask for their help – they should be able to perform the task for you…
