AT&T, Boingo Wireless team-up over global Wi-Fi roaming

Wi-Fi roaming provider Boingo Wireless is teaming-up with AT&T to allow the carrier’s customers using the AT&T Wi-Fi International app to access Wi-Fi hotspots all around the world. A total of 1GB of free Wi-Fi per month is included in the deal at no additional charge for AT&T subscribers (with an appropriate plan); in return, Boingo’s users will be able to access AT&T’s hotspots across the U.S.

Initially, Boingo will let AT&T customers access Wi-Fi hotspots at major international airports with service continuing to expand throughout 2013. So if you plan to travel around, you’ll be able to freely browse the web, check your email and cyber-schmooze while waiting for your plane to take-off (instead of paying airports’ premium access fees).

Both AT&T and Boingo Wireless are Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) member companies, and both are participating in the WBA’s Next Generation Hotspot trials for seamless Wi-Fi roaming…
