The iPhone 5S has been receiving lots of attention as of late, with rumors and renders surfacing almost daily. Most of the renders we have seen have been a bit absurd, but interesting nonetheless. According to the Wall Street Journal, Foxconn is on a hiring spree, snatching up employees to produce the iPhone 5S.
Foxconn manufactures components for multiple smartphone manufacturers, such as Acer, Samsung and of course Apple. Foxconn has had a hiring freeze since February of this year. The move to hire more employees could signal the release of Apple’s new handset later this summer. Specs have not yet been announced for Apple’s new toy, but we have heard rumors that Apple may be offering the iPhone 5S in a few different screen sizes in an attempt to regain some of the market share they have lost over the last few months.
With Apple cutting prices on their iPhone 5 handsets and basically giving away their iPhone 4 and 4S units over the last few weeks, the timing makes sense on Apple’s part. With rumors stating that the iPhone 5S will be released later this summer, the timing makes sense as it would take Foxconn a few months to produce components and assemble the units.
