If you’re rocking a Sony Xperia Tablet S, you’re in luck today as Sony is rolling out an update tomorrow that will put Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean on the tablet. The Xperia Tablet S is currently running on Ice Cream Sandwich, so Xperia Tablet S owners will experience quite a change with their new update. Android Jelly Bean features such as Google Now and Project Butter will make the tablet more intuitive to use, as well as providing a smoother, more responsive experience compared to its predecessor.
The update will be available on Sony’s servers tomorrow between 9 and 10 am PST, at which point Xperia Tab S owners will receive a notification at the bottom left hand corner of the screen which will notify the user of notification availability. Users will then be able to download the update OTA. The update is over 50MB, so you may want to have your device charged and connected to Wi-Fi before updating.
No change log has been released yet, but we can expect to see some bug fixes and maybe even a few Sony optimizations. The update will roll out worldwide in phases, beginning with tomorrow’s release in Latin America, then United States and Canada. No details on when the update will make its way to other regions.
