Today, Twitter announced that it is rolling out its new music service to the public. Previously available only to celebrity accounts, the new Twitter #Music will let you mine Twitter activity to find the songs and the artists that other people are listening to. You can also share the music that you enjoy with your followers as well as view other people’s profiles and see what music they like and what artists they follow. It’s all about sharing and discovering new music using a social network as its backbone.
When you find music that you like, you can listen to full length tracks via Spotify or Rdio. The service also pulls in music previews from iTunes. Twitter #Music will be available today as an iOS App or a web app (music.twitter.com). Check it out and let us know what you think.
