AAXA Technologies has recently unveiled the P2 Jr, which they describe as a next generation pico projector based on the “amazingly small 4024 optical engine.”
Powered by TI’s Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology, mated to 15,000 hour LEDs and advanced micro-optics – it is capable of producing a vivid 55 lumen picture, 1000:1 contrast and vibrant-color image.
The P2 Jr accepts an HDMI video input of up to 1080p (1920×1080) through its mini-HDMI port (output is limited to 720p), and yes it can help you beam an image/video from your smartphone or tablet to the well (as well as using other gadgets that support HDMI out). There’s also an option to use the VGA port if you need one…
Perhaps the most important thing you want to know is battery. According to AAXA, this little fella’ can keep you entertained for up to two hours on a single charge. There’s also a DC cable included which can come especially handy when you want to watch longer movies.
Other things you should know – the P2 Jr has a USB port, microSD memory card slot and its own speaker so you can play audio and video files even without connecting a phone/tablet/computer to it. The device costs $199 and you can pre-order your unit from here. Before clicking that link, check out the short demo video below. Enjoy!
