Huawei A199 announced in China: 5-inch 720p screen, 1.5GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM and 8MP camera

Huawei A199 announced in China

Huawei A199 is a new Android Jelly Bean smartphone heading to the company’s own backyard, namely China Telecom’s portfolio. Specs wise, it comes with a 5-inch 720p HD screen, Huawei’s quad-core processor (K3V2) clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, dual cameras (8-megapixel on the back, 1.3-megapixel front-facing one), 8GB of internal storage and a 2,150mAh battery. In addition, the A199 also packs dual-mode support, making it work both on CDMA- and GSM-based networks. This is kinda expected since China Telecom is the only CDMA carrier and it wants to allow its customers to use phones even while roaming abroad (or while connecting to other two Chinese networks).

Yet again, we doubt many of you will be able to try out this particular Huawei device. As far as we know, it won’t make it to the West and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Quite the contrary, you can choose between other Huawei smartphones, including the Ascend D1 and Ascend P2, both of which are great devices…

Cool phone but I still prefer the D2 (if I had to choose between Huawei smartphones)
