BlackBerry wants us to pay a premium for the physical keyboard the Q10 sports. According to this Bloomberg report, the second BlackBerry 10 device (after Z10) will go for $249 with a two-year contract, making it more expensive than the iPhone 5, HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4. Not sure that’s a wise strategy, but what do I know. Perhaps the Canadian company is betting its die-hard fans are willing to pay a premium for the classic-looking BlackBerry, perhaps not. In any case, we’re sure some carriers and especially third-party retailers like Amazon, Wirefly and Walmart will slash the Q10’s price in no time at all.
I do know few folks who waited for this phone for quite some time now, and for them, paying few extra bucks shouldn’t come as a problem. We’ll see whether there’s enough of these users to help BlackBerry get back to the market. Or they all switched to iPhone and Android…
