Nokia has started rolling out updates for its range of Symbian/Belle-based smartphones which were released in 2011 and 2012, though we’re hearing that some older devices (like the E7, C7, C6-01 and X6) may also get their share of new features. In other words, the software targets owners of the Nokia PureView 808, Nokia 700, Nokia 701, Nokia 603, Nokia X7 and Nokia 500.
The main new thing included here are homescreen widgets, namely Webview widget, Mirror widget (for phones that have a front-facing camera), Stopwatch, Toggle Flashlight and Contacts Communication (to get quick access to favorite contact).
I would say it’s nice to see Nokia taking care of existing customers even after announcing it will discontinue to make Symbian/Belle-based products.
And before I let you go, make sure to save any documents and/or emails prior to proceeding with the update. Once the process is completed, the phone will restart and you could end-up losing your data. Don’t say we haven’t warned you. 😉
