Google Play Store Updated With Application Data Sync

The Google I/O keynote is in just a few hours, and we’ve already begun to see updates in some form. No, it’s not a system update, but a silent update to the Google Play Store. Last night, Google quietly updated their Play Store, rolling out version 4.1.6, which includes a new home page, new Wishlist and app page buttons arranged a little differently. The most exciting feature in this update is the syncing of App data, which will allow users to keep their app data without backing up their devices before a wipe, and the possibility of syncing app data across multiple Android devices. Pretty nifty, if you ask me.

Another feature included in the update is improved Google+ sharing, which comes to us via a People Details section, which should sync contacts with a users’ Google+ account.

The update should be rolling out sometime this morning, so check your devices for updates.
