Today Google announced a revamp to Gmail’s inbox on the Desktop and it’s smartphone applications, and it looks pretty darn nice. While the changes are seemingly just done through Labels, the revamped inbox is something you’ll actually want to use.
Sure, Google has offered its Priority Inbox for Gmail for some time now, but you’d still find social networking updates next to something like a website newsletter, etc. With the new inbox for Gmail, the type of emails you receive will be put into its own dedicated category and can easily be accessed by clicking on its designated tab.
The video below shows off just how helpful the new inbox can be:
The new inbox will be rolling out to the Android and iOS applications in the coming weeks, in which you’ll see your primary email front and center, with easy access to the new labels.
So while we wait for the official Gmail applications for Android and iOS to get their update on, check out Gmail on the desktop to see if the new inbox is waiting for you. The new Gmail inbox should make it easier for you to see the emails that you want to see, when you want to see them. Sounds like a win-win, if you ask us.
