Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy S4 Active, touting it as the “perfect companion for exploration, activity and adventure.” The IP67-certified device is dust- and water-proof (or that’s water-resistant), allowing you to submerge it for up to 30 minutes at a depth of one meter.

In addition, the Galaxy S4 Active also comes with an unspecified 1.9GHz quad-core processor, 5-inch full HD screen, 2,600mAh battery and an 8-megapixel camera which got the new “Aqua Mode” for taking photos and videos under the water. Moreover, there’s a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, optional LTE connectivity (in markets where that makes sense) and we guess 2GB of RAM, 8 or 16 GB of built-in storage and so on. Plus, let’s not forget Sammy’s preloaded apps that include Trip Advisor-powered S Travel, S Translator and other software tweaks like Group Play, Smart Pause, etc.

When it comes to availability, the GALAXY S4 Active will start selling at some point this summer, with initial retail in the U.S. and Sweden. It will be offered in three different color options, including Urban Grey, Dive Blue and Orange Flare. Price was not unveiled, though.
