UPS sorter accused of stealing Apple products by concealing them in his pants

Stephen Owens, a UPS sorter at the company’s Springfield, Virginia location, was allegedly stealing unopened Apple products by stuffing them in his pants or otherwise concealing them. Owens reportedly stole up to 60 iPhones, iPads, iPods and MacBooks over the course of six months, says a report in WUSA9.

The investigation that led to Owens’ arrest began in mid-2012 when Fairfax County Police started receiving complaints about missing Apple products. UPS became suspicious when many customers reported that their new iOS and OS X devices were shipped, but never arrived. According to a police report, Owens allegedly stole these Apple products and then sold them online in the Washington D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia area.
