A recent report claims Apple is lowering iPhone repair costs by offering in-store screen replacements for $149. Customers can choose to fix their iPhone or pay $80 more ($229) for a refurbished replacement. Those customers opting to get their phone fixed will hand it off to a genius bar employee, who will replace the screen and then calibrate it using the machine shown above. Apple is reportedly making iPhone repairs a priority and dropping a lot of resources into fixing handsets instead of merely replacing them.
