We have heard rumors that Samsung would be developing a few devices that run on the Tizen OS, and a new leaked screenshot from one of Samsung’s R&D facilities shows a “Test Center Check-In” sheet that lists two Samsung Tizen devices, which have been rumored thus far as the Redwood and the Melius. Both devices are believed to be launching later this summer or early fall.
The Samsung GT-I8805, codenamed Redwood is expected to be a high-end device, touting 4G connectivity and specs comparable to Samsung’s current Android powered flagship phone, the Galaxy S4. The Samsung GT-I8800, codenamed Maelius, will arrive with mid-range specs, and will be limited to 3G connectivity.
While the leaked screenshot does not give us any insight into which stage of testing and development these devices are in, we will surely see more news of Samsung’s Tizen devices in the near future.
