This isn’t official but it comes from a reputable source, SamMobile, which claims that Samsung delayed Android 4.2.2 updates for the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II.
Apparently we have Samsung’s TouchWiz software to “thank” for this. And while we’re not sure what could be the problem, we know that both the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II have sufficient hardware power to run both the latest version of Android and TouchWiz — yes, even 1GB of RAM Galaxy S III has should be enough.
As a reminder, all of the newly announced Samsung devices come with Android 4.2.2 preloaded, including the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy Mega 5.8 and 6.3, and even the low-end Galaxy Ace 3.
We’re sure that Sammy’s engineers are working round the clock to make this happen and we’re looking forward to learn about update dates as soon as possible.
