Samsung recently released the kernel source code for two of its newest devices: the4 Active and the Galaxy Note 8.0 LTE. The source code will allow developers create custom ROMs for all of you flash-happy owners.
Both devices were released as AT&T exclusives last friday, each welcomed entries to the carrier’s lineup. The Galaxy S 4 Active rocks a majority of its Active-less brother, but ships with a tweaked and ruggedized design that’s both water and dust resistant. The Galaxy Note 8 LTE is exactly what it sounds like – An 8-inch tablet from the Note family, meaning it ships with an S-Pen and all of the expected features that you’d expect from the Note line of devices.
If you’re an owner of one of these two devices, you have a little more time to wait, as developers need some time to do their thing. But soon enough, you’ll be able to flash a custom ROM if you so choose.
Head on over to Samsung Open Source site here to download the code now.
