Google is bringing its Play Books marketplace to 4 additional countries – Austria, Belgium, Ireland and Portugal. Guess dealing with publishers isn’t as easy as Google has hoped for when we see the service rolling out at a such slow pace.
Google Play Books is now live in total of 18 countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Russia, United Kingdom and United States. That leaves more than half of the world uncovered and we’re sure the search giant is negotiating with publishers as we speak. Hopefully we’ll have something more to add to this story in the near future.
As a reminder, last time Google expanded the Books service was in March and at that time only one country was included – Mexico. Before that, the service was rolled out in India (February) and France (July 2012)…
