If you’re a BlackBerry or Windows Phone user who like to share photos online, you’ll be sad to know that Instagram won’t launch an app for your platform any time soon.
In an interview with Fast Company, Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom confirmed this, saying they’re intentionally moving at a slow pace. Here’s what he said:
I’m just saying that in order of priority, the way we evaluate where to expand to is really simply where our users are, and where the growth is. It took us a very long time to get to Android.
Instagram has more than 100 million monthly active users on Android and iOS. They’ve recently added a video-sharing feature to compete with Twitter’s popular Vine app.
And while this isn’t great news for BlackBerry and Windows Phone users, there are other apps that allow you to add effects to photos and share them across social networks. The chances are you’ve already found an alternative that works for you…
