Nokia’s former executive VP of sales, Colin Giles has joined Huawei as an Executive Vice President of Huawei Consumer Business Group where he will be in charge of global marketing, retail and open channel development.
Giles said he’s delighted to join the Chinese company “at such an exciting time in the development of Huawei’s consumer brand.”
However, it’s important to add that Huawei didn’t just buy off Giles from Nokia. He left the Finnish company last April after working for around two decades, focusing largely on building Nokia’s presence in Asia and China. That, apparently, is something Huawei needs now, hence they decided to hire him.
