Sony’s newly unveiled SmartWatch 2 will be available in the UK sooner than we’ve expected it to be. According to phone retailer Clove, interested users will be able to grab their unit as early as July 15th which is less than 10 days from the moment you’re reading this. The price is set at 120 GBP, the amount that translates into some $180 (or so).
As you may know from our previous post on the subject, Sony’s second smart watch builds on the original device, adding a bigger and denser touchscreen, and more powerful hardware to the mix. Longer battery life also comes included and so does IP57 certification that makes the watch water-proof.
As for pre-installed apps, users get a remote presenter, a remote camera shutter, Runtastic integration, and standard messaging notifications. Plus, let’s not forget third-party app support that could further extend the uses case of this kind of device.
So do you want a smart watch and will Sony’s gear work for you?
UPDATE: Clove now lists September 9th as the shipping date.
The release date of the Sony SmartWatch 2 has been put back to September and will not be launching week commencing 15th July as previously stated. The revised arrival date is week commencing 9th September.
