Apple’s iMessage Service Crashes For 30% of Users, Still Not Functioning For Some

Apple’s iMessage service went down today between approximately 12:30 and 1:15, with Apple claiming that it effected “some users,” which was about 30% of users, according to VentureBeat.

Apple is reporting the service as being fully functional at the moment, but a few tweets are still circulating claiming that the service is not working for some people. The reason for the outage is still unknown, and there’s no telling when the service will again be functioning for all iMessage users, but Apple is definitely aware of the problem and acting accordingly.

This is not the first time iMessage users have been left in the dark, as a bug shut down the service for some time back in April. Are you having trouble using iMessage? We’d love to know.
