Nokia Lumia 521 and LG Optimus F3 now available from MetroPCS

MetroPCS’ line-up has been expanded with the addition of two new smartphones – Nokia Lumia 521 and LG Optimus F3.

The first of the two is the cheapest Windows Phone 8 device like ever, selling for just $99.99 sans any strings attached. Actually, you’ll likely have to use it with MetroPCS’ network but there are no long-term commitments whatsoever. Specs wise, it comes with a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen, 1GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel rear camera, 512MB of RAM, 1430mAh battery and 8GB of expandable storage.

As for the LG Optimus F3, it’s an entry-level LTE Android smartphone that includes a 4-inch WVGA IPS touchscreen, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel camera on the back, while Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is running the show. Again, it too is available sans contract as long as you pour out $149.99. Pretty sweet for first-time smartphone users…

When will Nokia Lumia 521 be available for Metro PCS

the Lumia comes with all the Nokia apps including the HERE maps (powered by Navteq which powers most GPS devices like Garmin). so even if you just buy the phone and get no cell plan, no data plan, you can still use the Nokia as a GPS and have full offline turn-by-turn navigation (no need to download maps). not bad to get a full-featured GPS device for $100 that can do a lot more than just navigation.
