HP’s follow-up to its mediocre SlateBook is looking impressive, setting itself apart from other Android tablets by offering some high-end specs and a stylish design. HP’s second device to enter the Android space comes touting a keyboard dock, pitting it against the like of ASUS’ Transformer line of Android Tablets.
The HP SlateBook x2 utilizes the powerful Tegra 4 processor from NVIDIA, clocked at 1.8GHz. The tablet also includes an Intel HD Graphics 4000 chip, 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM. The 10.1 inch WUXGA anti-glare touchscreen rocks a resolution of 1920 x 1200, providing crisp and vivid images. The device has a microSD slot for memory expansion, and a multi-format digital media card reader. The tablet battery holds enough juice for 10 hours of use, with the keyboard dock providing and extra 8 hours of battery life when connected to the tablet. The device runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and also rocks a HDMI out, dual camera and DTS sound technology.
The SlateBook x2 is set to go on sale in August for a price of $479, placing it in the higher end of the Android tablet market.
