One piece of bad news to share about Motorola’s new Moto X phone — the flagship handset will ship with a locked bootloader. According to Droid-Life, Motorola confirmed that the bootloader is “not unlocked.” This revelation may be disappointing but not surprising since the phone is headed to a bunch of carriers and their walled gardens.
Google has not said whether there would be an bootloader-unlocked developer edition, but there is a Google Play version in the works.
