Verizon Leak Points to August 23rd Release for Moto X

Motorola’s hotly anticipated new handheld was revealed last week. But so far there’s been no word on the Moto X’s release date. Now a leaked shot of an inventory screen points to Friday, August 23rd being the day the Moto X will come to Verizon.

Android Central dropped the screen today, saying it came from “a major retailer.” The inventory listing clearly states a “Street Date” of August 23rd, just 3 days after the release or Verizon and Motorola’s exclusive Droid Ultra and Droid Ultra Maxx.

Like the Droid Ultra, the 16GB Moto X will retail for $199.99 with a new contract. The Verizon Moto X will be available in black and white at launch, but Verizon has assured us that its customers will have access to all the Moto Maker customization options later this year.

The Moto X features a 4.7 inch 720p HD AMOLED display . The handset also ships with a 10 megapixel Clear Pixel camera, which should significantly increase performance in low-light situations. Rocking a 1.7GHz Qualcomm S4 CPU, this firmly plants the handset in the mid-range  market. That said, the handset itself should perform serviceably to most people. Other specs on the Moto X include 2GB RAM, 16/32GB internal storage, and 2200 mAh battery.

If this leak is to be believed, you can grab a Verizon Moto X in just a few weeks!
