As expected, Pantech has announced the Vega LTE-A (model number IM-A880S) in South Korea, without saying anything about bringing this powerful phablet to the West.
As we’ve reported earlier, the Vega LTE-A borrows some cues from the LG G2, boasting a fingerprint reader and touch sensor on the back. Specs are also similar to LG’s new flagship (which will be announced later today) and include Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5.5-inch full HD screen, LTE-Advanced connectivity support, and 16 or 32 GB of internal storage. There’s also a “Smart Cover” that is similar to LG’s QuickWindow case, allowing users to get a quick glimpse to such information as incoming calls and text, weather conditions, time, alarm and so on. Finally, it’s worth noting that LG’s baby boasts a “fast charge” 3100mAh battery which can be fully charged in just 94 minutes.
The Pantech Vega LTE-A will be available in mid-August in black and white. South Korea’s SKT will be the first carrier to start selling it and yet again, we hope this bad boy will hit the Western hemisphere soon…
