Evernote just continues to make moves, as the productivity tools company strikes a deal with popular Spanish telco company Telefonica. The wireless provider will give all 247 million of its customers premium access to all of Evernote’s features (a savings of $45).
The new partnership is being ran by the Vivo brand, and will be held in Brazil starting today. Both companies have not clarified whether current Evernote customers are eligible for the special deal.
This kind of deal seems like a no brainer if you’re an overseas carrier like Telefonica. However, for Evernote, this is a power grab for potential customers worldwide. Snatching up as much mind share as possible opens up endless possibilities for growth.
“Our goal is to make people smarter by creating a product that transcends local cultures and tastes while increasing productivity,” said Phil Libin, CEO of Evernote. “We are excited to launch a partnership with Telefonica, one of the leading telecommunications companies in the world, which allows us to bring our products to millions of mobile customers across the globe. By starting our partnership in Brazil, we are able to tap into Vivo’s vast mobile market presence and continue Evernote’s incredible growth in this important country.”
