EISA (the European Imaging and Sound Association) has announced its awards for 2013 – 2014, and many of the popular Android devices were honored.
Samsung is the single most awarded company with three of its products scoring accolades: Galaxy S4 Mini won the European Social Media 2013 – 2014 distinction, Galaxy S4 “went home” with the European Green Phone of 2013 – 2014 award, while the Galaxy NX camera was named European Photo Innovation of 2013 – 2014.
The HTC One was selected as EISA’s European Advanced Smartphone, Huawei’s ultra-slim Ascend P6 won the European Consumer Smartphone 2013 – 2014 title, and Sony’s Xperia Tablet Z won the European Tablet of 2013 – 2014 award.
As a reminder, at one point in the not-so-distant past Nokia was going home with many of these awards. We live in a very different world today as I’m sure you can tell. We did hope to see the Lumia 1020 getting some traction; guess the reason EISA judges “forgot” about it… or the fact that Nokia’s camera-phone is still not available in Europe also played a role…
