Two of the new DROID smartphones are now available on Verizon. Starting today, the DROID Maxx and Ultra can be purchased from Verizon stores and ordered online. The DROID Maxx can be purchased for $299 and the Ultra is available for $199 with a new two year contract.
The DROID Ultra and Maxx are similar in nature, with the Maxx touting a gigantic 3,500mAh battery which boasts up to 48 hours of battery life. Both handsets are powered by Motorola’s X8 Mobile Computing System SoC, which contains eight cores, two of which are dedicated to application processing. The CPU clocks in at 1.7GHz, and both units contain 2GB of RAM. Akin to the Moto X, the Motorola manufactured DROID Maxx and Ultra will be spoting voice command features, as well as DROID Zap and Command center.
The entry level offering of the new DROID family, the DROID Mini will be launching on August 29th, and the Moto X will be released this Friday.
