Virgin has released its first waterproof smartphone, aptly named the Reef. The Reef, which is manufactured by ZTE, touts entry-level specs as well as IPX7 ruggedness. The device can be submerged in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes max.
Inside of the rugged package is a 1GHz processor, 4GB of internal storage with a microSD slot for expansion, 1GB of RAM, a 1650mAh battery, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and 3G connectivity. The Reef touts a 5 megapixel rear-facing shooter and has a 4-inch touchscreen.
With an off-contract price tag of $149.99, the device is a decent entry-level offering. So head on over to Virgin Mobile’s website and get ready to take some awesome underwater selfies.
