iPhone 5S to carry A7 processor; 31 percent faster than today’s model

Two thirds of Brits skeptical on the iPhone 5S' prospects

Is there anything we don’t know about the upcoming iPhone 5S? We’re at the point now where new leaks and rumors about specs, color, etc., are hitting the web seemingly by the day. Earlier, photos of a graphite colored iPhone 5S with black accents started doing the rounds on the internet.

The latest report is coming from Clayton Morris, tweeting that he heard from “sources” that the iPhone 5S will carry a new A7 processor that’s expected to be 31 percent faster than the A6 chip inside the iPhone 5.

This could all be bullshit, we don’t know because it hasn’t been officially announced. However it isn’t out of the realm for the new iPhone to pack more horsepower under the hood. We’re sure Mr. Clayton chose to tweet this scoop and not write a report because of how insignificant it is in the grand scheme of things. It’s something that wouldn’t surprise folks if true.

If this turns out the be legit, it would be a significant speed improvement the company can brag about during its announcement. This is the type of stuff Apple lives for: glorifying spec bumps as “revolutionary,” or “never seen before.” You guys know the code words.

So would this surprise us if it pans out? Nope.
