BLU Products, which we know for their affordable Android gear, unveiled a trio of new devices, each packing a solid bang for the buck.
Let’s start with the cheapest model, DASH JR (pictured above), which is an entry-level smartphone with a 1GHz processor, 3.5-inch HVGA screen, 2-megapixel camera, dual SIM capability and a memory card slot. Unfortunately, it runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but I guess we shouldn’t expect much more from a $50 device.
Then there’s the DASH MUSIC 4.0 that comes equipped with dual front facing speakers to produce “loud and brilliant sound reproduction quality.” This model also sports a 4-inch WVGA display, MediaTek’s 1.3GHz dual-core processor, HSPA+ and Wi-Fi connectivity, 3.2-megapixel camera on the back and two SIM card slots. Running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the DASH MUSIC 4.0 will be priced at $99 unlocked.
Finally, the DASH MUSIC 5.0 builds on top of the MUSIC 4.0, adding a bigger, 5-inch FWVGA (480×854 pixels) screen and a better, 5-megapixel camera with LED flash to the mix. It will retail for $129 sans any strings attached.
To make for an even sweeter deal, BLU will be offering each of the new DASH devices in 6 different colors. As for when you can get any of these, expect them to hit the store shelves by the end of September…
