Google has updated its keyboard app to fix some of the known bugs and add one handy capability to the mix. And that thing is the ability to long-press numbers on the top row for tablets, something that was missing in earlier releases. Moreover, keyboard layouts for some languages have been tuned, and there are also a number of bugfixes and stability improvements.
Yeah, it’s a small update (to version 1.1) but it’s a worthy one, especially if you own one of the Nexus tablets that come with Google’s keyboard app. Alternatively, we would suggest installing SwiftKey. It’s by far the best on-screen keyboard I’ve used. And that applies to both smartphones and tablets. It’s not free (after a trial period expires) but it’s worth every penny…
