Just in time for IFA in Berlin, ARCHOS reminded us about its whole range of products, while announcing some new ones. Let’s briefly go through their new devices.
First there’s the new Gen11 tablet, the ARCHOS 101xs2, which is “designed for performance, media playback and productivity.” It’s powered by a quad-core processor, while boasting an HD IPS screen, front-facing dual stereo speakers and ARCHOS’ magnetic keyboard cover.
Then there’s the pair of kid-friendly devices, 101 ChildPad and 80 ChildPad, with ARCHOS’ custom UI designed for children, parental controls, and filtered apps list. Plus, let’s not forget the upcoming GamePad 2, which too will be announced shortly.
Smartphone wise, the company talks about its Oxygen, Platinum and Titanium range of devices. Member of the first group, ARCHOS 50 Oxygen, features a full HD IPS screen, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, 16GB of internal storage, while Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is running the show. On the other hand, there’s the Titanium range, which will start at 99 GBP, offering a 4-inch screen, dual-core CPUs, Bluetooth, GPS, dual-SIM capability, Android 4.2, 5MP back and VGA front cameras.
Finally, ARCHOS also said something about its future plans, adding that it will enrich its smartphone lineup with the addition of 4G LTE models and — the cool part starts here — develop a full range of “Connected Objects,” including a “unique smart watch concept.” Can’t wait to see what these guys come up with.
