HTC Zara and Zara Mini have been officially announced as Desire 601 and Desire 300. The first device comes with a 4.5-inch qHD screen, 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor, BoomSound front speakers, 5-megapixel camera and LTE connectivity support (in markets where that makes sense). A standard suite of HTC’s software comes preloaded, including HTC Sense, Zoe, BlinkFeed and video highlights. It will start selling later this month.
On the other hand, the Desire 300 is an entry-level smartphone with a 1GHz dual-core chip (Snapdragon S4), 512MB of RAM, 4.3-inch WVGA screen and again HTC’s preloaded software that runs on top of Android. This model will hit select markets in October.
As for the HTC BoomBass, it’s a Bluetooth-enabled subwoofer with a dedicated amplifier, providing “clearer, more powerful bass when combined with the HTC One family’s BoomSound.” The part that makes it look cool is the included slide-out shelf that’s used to house your phone. HTC will start selling the BoomBass from its Accessory Store from mid-October.
