Long known for its timely and accurate leaks, the Wall Street Journal is back at it again with a last-minute leak that all but confirms the next generation iPhone will feature a fingerprint sensor.
According to the WSJ, fingerprint technology has steadily improved over the years and now allows you to scan your finger several times while it is being held in one spot. This method of scanning matches up nicely with recent rumors that suggest the iPhone’s biometric scanner would be built into the home button. This type of scanning would make it easy for a person to wake up and unlock their phone with a single press of the home button.
The new iPhone 5S, along with the less iPhone 5C, are expected to be announced today during an event that’ll be held at Apple’s Cupertino campus. The event starts at 10:00AM Pacific time.
