Almost missed this… Virgin Mobile has recently added a new smartphone to its portfolio, ZTE Awe. The entry-level Android smartphone is available for $99 sans any strings attached, and as such – it doesn’t pack the latest bells and whistles under the hood. The Awe comes with a 4-inch IPS display with WVGA (480×800 pixels) resolution, 5-megapixel rear and 1-megapixel front cameras, 3G connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0 and Qualcomm’s MSM8630 chip clocked at 1.2GHz. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is running the show.
Of course, you’ll also need some text, minutes and data to use with ZTE’s baby; to that end Virgin suggests its no-contract plans starting at $35 per month.
Feel free to check out the ZTE Awe from this page at Virgin Mobile’s website.
