French mobile game developer and publisher Gameloft has teamed-up with Intel to enhance the games it offers for Android devices. As a result of this co-operation, all future Gameloft titles will be optimized for Android platforms using Intel architecture as the company expands its game catalogue to “new high-performance smartphones and tablets.”
Gonzague De Vallois, Gameloft’s senior VP of publishing at Gameloft, said Intel’s “innovative hardware platforms help us unleash our development capabilities for even greater creativity and reach new audiences”.
Gameloft’s smartphone and tablet game sales in H1 2013 grew 45% year-on-year, accounting for 61% of group sales totaling €109.4 million (up from a 48% share of €95.2 million group sales during H1 2012).
More than 800 million freemium and paid Gameloft games have now been installed on iOS and Android devices. The company said it now has capacity to launch 20 to 30 mobile games per year.
