Earlier this month the folks at Sony unveiled the Xperia Z1, one of the company’s brand new high-end flagship devices. The 5-inch waterproof handset is packed with many eye-catching features such as an impressive 20.7-megapixel rear camera, which includes a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS for mobile CMOS image sensor, G Lens with 27mm wide-angle lens and f/2.0 aperture and Sony’s BIONZ image processing tech.
Clearly, the Z1 hasn’t hit store shelves in any of the major U.S. cellular providers as of yet. However the folks over at GSM Nation just got the exclusive device in its inventory, it has unlocked (model number C6903) black versions available for any carrier of your choosing. It supports just about every LTE frequency, including 800/850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600MHz. So customers using high-speed data on either AT&T or T-Mobile is good to go. However this unit should work on most GSM carriers in the States.
The Xperia Z1 is a beast of a smartphone that sports a 1080p display powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and touts 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card to 64GB and a 3,000 mAh battery. The Xperia Z1 is dust and water-resistant, packing IP55 and IP58 certification.
Unfortunately, there’s no time-frame to when we can expect the Sony Xperia Z1 to hit stateside, assuming if it ever does come. A problem Sony has all too much. So being able to grab the Xperia Z1 unlocked is pretty damn incredible.
If you’re really into this phone you can head over to the online retailer’s site, and hit the “Add to Cart” button before these things go fast. The Xperia Z1 is a great option for you Galaxy Note lovers out there.
